LAVT MISSION

The mission of the LAVT is to represent and promote the highest standards within the veterinary technician profession along with the veterinary health care team. We promote the educational and professional advancement of the entire veterinary team by supporting continuing education programs and sponsored seminars. We strive to exemplify the utmost professionalism with top ethical standards and humane animal care in cooperation with the veterinary medical profession. Our goal is to promote the veterinary health care team, increased public awareness of veterinary technicians, and the human-animal bond. We will always promote the profession and stand behind the rights and privileges of the veterinary technician as necessary.

I solemnly dedicate myself to iding animals and society by providing excellent care and services for animals, by alleviating animal suffering, and promoting public health.

I accept my obligations to practice my profession conscientiously and with sensitivity, adhering to the profession's Code of Ethics, and furthering my knowledge and competence through a commitment to lifelong learning.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

With the growth and change in the veterinary industry with regards to veterinary technicians, the state association of veterinary technicians needs to be growing as strong as possible to become a unified voice in the state in response to those changes.

Getting involved in the state association will allow you to receive information on changes as they are handed out.

You will also get up to date information on continuing education in the state during the year and also information on the LVMA Winter Meeting Technician Program.
